Good Samaritan Clinic is closed today because it’s Good Friday. However, I haven’t posted anything for a few days, so I wanted to give everyone an update.
Business is booming at the Clinic these days. We have already registered 30 new uninsured patients and had 200 appointments so far this month. That means we have been very busy in the first seven working days of the month.
An article in USA Today, published yesterday, assures me that this trend extends across the country. The article talks about the role of both free clinics and community health centers.
For the record, Good Samaritan Clinic is not a government-funded community health center. We are a member of the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC). Nicole Lamoureux, executive director of NAFC, is quoted in the USA Today story.
